Based on Request by some users ,here is a Tutorial on how to make Theme for ML / Mav. (the tut is not very detailed but it cover the most ,u need to use ur Brain)

Resources

Tips
*make PS actions for Resize/move/Coloring the files as editing them 1 by 1 will make u hate ur self.
*(-2) is always the double of the (-1) ,the -2 is for the retina & it won't effect normal macs.

SArtFile {make The Resource Files any size u want}

▶Menu Bar > #109 & #48 (retina menu)
▶Spotlight > #110 & #111
▶Edge selector (right click selection) > #107 & #108
▶Menu text selection color > #49 & #50 {u have to color the 23px ,any empty pixels will be colored by the system}

▶Finder Top bar > L  > 88
                         M > 86
                         R > 90
*u don't need to edit the black curvy boxes like on SL
**#112 effects the top bar if any of L/M/R is blank.

▶Mac icon > #11 & #12 {for the -2 it have to be double the size} < (if u got any bad rendering ,put the Menu text selection color as a bg under the icon)

▶System setting small dots > #304 ,#306 ,#308 ,#310.

▶Login Window > #272

▶Arrows >#134 ,#165 (for Back/Forward) ….. #323 ,#334 (for Action/Path) …..#135 ,#146 ,#158 (for the column view folder arrows in finder)
*there a some more but needs more investigation.

ArtFile

▶Titlebar control > it have to be at the same size as the originals (if u made them all at one size like on SL it will get bad rendering)

*u have to change the artfile200 to work on retina
*the artfile200 is double the size of the normal one ,so make ur normal ones and test them 1st and when u r satisfied use the photoshop action for doubling the size.
*for the bad rendered TBC icons u can use the Finder Top bar files as a bg (that is a bug in ML & Lion that they accept certain amount of transparency)

+Thanx goes to Alex Zielenski for making that tools & mindlessmissy for compiling them.

+Original Threads macthemes.net/forum/viewtopic.… & macthemes.net/forum/viewtopic.…

-Tools you'll need cl.ly/3s0A1u0D2Z11 (works Lion & ML only "Mav use the same files from ML")
-The PS Action for resizing cl.ly/0g0q0w1Y3c3P

///
Update:
*i mentioned this b4 on macthemes but as its closed for now so here it is once more.
-ML cant be themed as Lion because of a bug in Safari that it repeats anything after the first 4pixels from the top (Finder doesn't have this bug) so unless u use something else other than safari ,u should go with Flavours.

Update 2:
*in Mavericks the safari bug is fixed ,so u can make any thing u want ,the only prob is the Edge selector (right click selection color) is hardcoded ,even if u've changed it ,it will remain blue/graphite.

You mention in "update 2" that edge selector is hardcoded...how does flavours fix that problem?? (10.9.4)
Also, in previous versions of os x, i was able to edit the menu bar color and add transparency through photoshop since it had to be deactivated through system preferences, and it worked!...but with 10.9.4 adding transparency through photoshop doesn't work at all. Do you know how to fix this issue?

thank you!

Flavors use a hook to apply the edge selector u make in the app ,about the menu bar when u say u edited the trans with PS do u mean the wallpaper trick or is it something else ?

ah okay, do you know any resources/tutorials on creating hooks? is a hook also applied to the menubar drop down menu color or is there an easier solution to that?

for example, in Snow Leopard, wanting to change the color of the menu bar:
- in system preferences, "translucent menu bar" needs to be deselected for it to work
- i still wanted a semi-transparent menu bar however, so when editing the png from SArtFile.bin (i believe it was index 116) in PS, i would first do a color overlay of the color i wanted, and then just simply change the opacity of the layer to 70%, then re-save the png back into SArtFile. This worked and made the menu bar semi-transparent..at one point i even set the opacity all the way to 0% to get a completely transparent menu bar and it worked (it looked awesome!).
- in mavericks, i took the same steps...I applied the color overlay to blue, then made the layer 70% transparent, but when i logged back in, something weird happened...the menu bar wasn't transparent or even blue, it turned into a darkish red color.

sorry for such a long post, but i hope this answers your question! Here's how my menu bar looks so far thanks to your help! (chicago themed!)

- if u want to make a hook u might as well learn how to make a SIMBL plugin ,u could of played a with the nib file that is responsible of the menu but apple locked that too.

- about the red color in the menubar thats the Extras2 file.

- about SL u simply need to forget about it because apple took a completely different approach after that os :( and as for the transparency OSX accepts a certain amount cant tell how much exactly as i've done that over a year ago but check this ctf0.deviantart.com/art/Aero-E… which ML was the last OS to support such a theory ,btw have u tried flavours i believe u can achieve what u want through it.
